4.5 Heartbreaking Stars!!
What a bloody roller-coaster!
I will be honest when I heard book 2 in the Hades Hangman series would be about Ky I was just like Meh..When can I have Flame? I was excited to read more about Flame and well I did get some Flame. Not enough to satisfy me but hey I will patiently wait for the next book because this book was awesome. I didn't think I would like it much, didn't know what could happen next and I was a little apprehensive thinking it may become repetitive. But no Tillie Cole did it again!!
I felt safe with Ky. I knew he was my protector... And even out in this unfamiliar world, and with as little time spent with him as I had had, I instinctively knew he would protect me from danger.
I fell in love with Ky and his love and patience. And my heart broke for Lilah I wanted to hug her and tell her everything would be alright.But then I also wanted to shake her and tell her everything she learnt was a lie!! But how do you explain to someone that everything they believed was wrong and its not her fault it just the horrible people she was around.
'We had been forced to exist after being ripped from our home, ripped from all we knew: the commune. The Order. The Lord’s Prophet. We belonged with God’s Chosen Ones.'
I never thought it would take her that long to adapt but the more you read the more you discover about her life, what she went through as a child and how it changed things for her.It made it so difficult for her to let go of her beliefs. She isn't like Mae, she didn't run away, she was forced to leave a place she thought of as home.She wants to be back there and the new world she lives in, she can't understand it.
We are introduced to new characters who basically become like family. That's what they all are, one big family. I loved it and can not wait for more..obviously because more means Flame's book which hellooo I want..like yesterday!! I loved the Flame bits we got and the ending what Ky was willing to do to make Lilah happy!! ahhhh I do love a happily ever after. Well done Tillie, don't ever stop writing ;)
